This is the way you want to see a champion like Orfevre end a stellar
career. I think you could make a strong argument for this being the most
impressive G1 race Orfevre ever ran in Japan. He saved his best for last,
obliterating the Arima Kinen field and officially beating Win Variation in
2nd by 8 lengths and Gold Ship in 3rd by 9-1/2 lengths, scarcely even off
the bridal at any point in the race. A terrific way for a great champion to
be remembered, indeed. I'm anxious now to see what kind of # Timeform throw
at Orfevre for his performance in the Arima Kinen? If it's a big #, and I
suspect it will be, it makes you wonder if Treve's Arc win won't scale to
new heights of becoming one of the highest rated Arc wins ever? Given that
she soundly defeated Orfevre by 5 lengths and Intello by 5-1/4 lengths,
scarcely off the bridal herself that day at Longchamp.
Thanks for the upload. Wow what a race his turn of foot was amazing just
zipped right by goldship like he was standing still that was going pretty
wide too.
Gberet i agree it makes Treve look even more impressive. One thing it also
makes me wonder is if Orfvere ran like this in the arc would it have been a
race? Like a el condor pasa montjeu type of finish maybe.
Either way great finish looking forward to treve 2014.
