give tonalist his due. CC ran out my gas this day. he got his 105 rest then had no business in the penns. derby. Bayern loved those slow fractions. those were work fractions 4 him. this day belong 2 Bayern. Something about Bayern I like.

I read these comments and its clear people do not have a clue! That was the worse ride on the favorite as he was the speed! then got choked a half mile and then went wide and only got beat by four. had he went to the lead and stayed on rail he would have been next triple crown winner. The ride was worse than Smarty Jones.

He could have been a little more diplomatic, but he does have a point. Unfortunately, horse racing in North America is on shaky ground, thanks to other forms of betting. People just don't want to pack up and spend an entire afternoon at the track where they'll see a 2 minute race followed by 30 minutes of nothing. Does anybody remember jai alai? I didn't think so.

It played out exactly as I figured it would . . . .you do not leave Commissioner out of your figures, not with the breeding of this horse !

Wah, wah, wah, my horsey didn't win. If your horse was THAT good he would have overcome and beaten all the rest. He was no Secretariat, and there never will be another Secretariat!!! Case closed!!

I have to agree with the owner. If you take horses that skip races so they are 100% fresh and put them up against a tired horse obviously the fresh horses will have a big advantage. That's just common sense.

I don't follow American horseracing actively but the owner appeared to be a sore loser. You also can't change something which has been in place for years. That is what makes it special. It takes a very special horse to win the Triple Crown.

CC was hands down the best horse out there. I agree though, the 20 horses that start the Triple Crown should be the only ones eligible to compete for the three races. Its not entirely fair to enter a fresh horse into just one triple crown race let alone the last race

Was hoping California Chrome will win but the winner totally deserved to win after being three wide all the way. Poor poor ride by the jockey of CC. With the position he had and the front runners going easily he should have stuck towards inside. If he had ridden the way third placed runner did than he would have come a lot closer to winning.
