| Race Synopsis: Brazen Beau settled in a good spot, eighth, tracking
behind horses on the favoured Grandstand side before switching to
put in a run (along the outside rail) from the 400m. He hit the lead at
the 250m and went on to score impressively by just over a length.
He looks a quality colt. His stablemate Delectation trailed the main
group of horses on the Grandstand side back in 14th place before
improving between runners nearing the 400m. He went to second at
the 100m and then battled well for a very promising second. Kuro also
stayed behind the leading group, tracking through behind the winner
from the 300m. He went to fourth at the 100m and then fought on well
for a good third. Armada was close to the leaders and held on quite
well for (5.4 lengths) fourth while the favourite Rich Enuff was close
to the pace but disappointed from the 400m to finish (6.1 lengths)
seventh, racing well below his previous good form, suggesting he
may now have trained-off. The horses near the lead on the rails side,
Earthquake (eighth), Rubick (12th) and Nostradamus (13th) all
went well below their best, most likely being affected by the strong
wind blowing across the course. | |
