R6 ROSEHILL | 05 April 2014 |
The Bmw G1 3U OPEN ($1,526,200), 2400m 2:34.29 | |
Race Synopsis: Silent Achiever is now unbeaten in all four starts this preparation, her latest three all being at Group One level. She was third on the rails early and dropped back a bit as the pace picked up in the back straight. She then travelled nicely in fifth place, one off the rails from the 1000m. She fanned wide on turning for home, hit the lead at the 200m and went away to win easily by a length and three quarters. It’s A Dundeel was ridden patiently by James McDonald and was last to the 600m. He put in a run, switching deep, rounding the home turn and kept making ground to grab second nearing the post, without really looking a winning prospect in the straight. Fiorente travelled well in sixth place on the rails. He looked a threat as he put in a run on straightening but he then kept battling on, getting to second at the 100m only to miss that placing nearing the post to finish a short neck further back in third. Sertorius was seventh early, made an early run due to a moderate pace and then raced in second place to the turn. He looked a threat as he took the lead on turning for home and then battled on for a sound fourth. Voleuse De Coeurs was seventh, one off the rails. She was under riding from the 600m and kept battling on fifth, looking suited to further still. |

Nice to see her running a little more handy than she has in the past. She doesn't get stuck needing so much luck in the run like she used to. I think the wins she's having now are indicative of the quality she's always had. Luck isn't so much of a factor any more though, that's been the biggest change.

And to think Silent Achiever came out at the same time as Ocean Park, now it is her turn to shine and what she showed us in NZ as a 3 year old when winning the derby.
