Boy this horse has improved so much from 3 to 4. Last season as a 3YO, the only non-maiden race that Ulysses won was the G3 Gordon Stakes at Goodwood. At the end of the year he was beaten by an average at best filly in Chain Of Daisies in the G3 Winter Hill Stakes at Windsor and though his 4th place finish in the Breeders Cup Turf was a decent enough effort, there was still over 6 lengths between himself and Highland Reel that day at Santa Anita. But this season as a 4YO, right out of the gate this horse has been all business, having now logged victories in the G3 Gordon Richards Stakes, G1 Coral-Eclipse, & G1 Juddmonte International Stakes. Plus, a couple of highly creditable placed efforts when finishing 2nd behind star filly Enable in the G1 King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes and 3rd, only a 1-1/2 lengths behind Highland Reel in the G1 Prince of Wales's Stakes. At this point in the season, Ulysses may well be the most improved older middle distance horse in Europe, IMO.

Kind of an eventful week for jockey Jim Crowley, who began the week by losing the ride on Eminent to Silvestre de Sousa in the Coral-Eclipse and ended it by winning the Coral-Eclipse on Ulysses!

Needed Ulysses for a patent and thought he won by more than he did ,got a bit worried when I watched the replay , if Queen of Time showed more heart I'd have had a lucky 15 up
