| Race Synopsis: Classy three-year-old Admiral was too fit, and with his 4kg weight advantage, proved too good today for The Cleaner who was resuming. Admiral had a good trip, fifth on the rails, appreciating a solid tempo. He switched wider approaching the home turn, went to second on turning for home, took the lead at the 100m and went on to win impressively by just over a length and in doing so took his excellent record to nine wins from 12 starts. The Cleaner went to the front as usual and ran along at a good tempo. He was under riding approaching the home turn and held the lead to the 100m but found the winner too good today, battling on for second, beaten a length and a quarter. Streetwise Savoire raced in second last place in the eight-horse field to the 700m and ran on nicely, late, for a very good third. | |
