I agree. He was so young! And how can it be for monetary gain when he'll never race again? If he's healthy enough to stud at one day he might cover his expenses and make a little bit of profit, but they weren't going to make millions off him if he'd survived.
How unfair for people to criticize the owners and the surgeon. It's obvious how much they loved Barbaro. I used to be one of those people who thought racing was cruel because you hear of horses drugged up and not to mention such young horses being worked so hard early in their lives, but after watching this I understand that most people involved in horse racing are in it because they love the horses, they love what they can do, not for monetary gain.
