The quarantine ends in January so she wont run in Japan, but there is rumour that she may run still in 2013

I don't think Danedream will come over for the Breeders Cup Turf anyway? And you're right, the Breeders Cup isn't quite the event these days that it was back in the mid-1980's and the 1990's when all of the top European horses used to ship over to America for the event. If she makes it out of quarantine in time? I think she'll ship back over to Japan for another shot at the G1 Japan Cup myself. JMO.

Christophe Soumillon, the jockey of Zarkava said that Orfevre was the best horse he had ever ridden. Interesting comment! That Danedream is certainly a great one. I hope she comes out of quarantine and proves herself. The Breeders' Cup though is not as good as it used to be. The top racing seems to have shifted to Europe.

I've followed racing for the better part of 30 years now and I can't ever remember another filly/mare that's won both the Arc and King George in my lifetime? Although I suspect if she'd been sent to Ascot for the race that Zarkava could've completed the double in 2008, IMO.

It is rare for anything to win both races. As far as a filly/mare is concerned, this is a first I think.

    He's not.

20/1. Bloody hell! That's a fantastic price. the bookies must be crazy.

  • SugarTomAppleRoger Says:

    8/10/2012 7:05:21 AM

That was a great price. I saw that also, and thought that the horse might not come across. Camelot was also at 8s early on.

To true! Orfevre is a champ also. Pity Danedream didn't start.

Danedream certainly is good. Beat the Melbourne Cup winner also! Great win by Danedream.

Not a lot knew about him otherwise he wouldn't be such a high price anyway I think I've lost now anyway Camelot or Saonois will win so I will lump on them.

he won the japanese triple crown last year, plenty of people had heard of him and I know a lot of people who are on at prices, ive got 16s

  • MrStripYourGirl Says:

    2/10/2012 9:02:29 AM

I thought Orfevre would win when no one knew of him. I got 20/1 a bit back but after seeing the last run I cant see him winning now Camelot or Saonois.

  • dessiesdoneit Says:

Im not saying they are not good horses, just that they are not great, Danedreams performance in the Arc was a one off, if she ran to that level here she would have won 3 or 4 lengths.

Hats off to Danedream for a gutsy win in the King George. But watching the replay a few times, can't help but feel that Nathaniel ran like the best horse in the race and was very unlucky to have lost a head bob to Danedream. JMO.
