the fact that we were able to not only win the match with 2 people injured during the match, but also win the ruck contests with a record 60 something hitouts, and have our younger inexperienced guys score a high score, that makes it a great win. And Showdowns are generally very competitive, no matter where the teams sit on the ladder. look at the history of showdowns, it shows that it doesn't matter where the team is on the ladder, it'll always be a competitive match

lol damn i've been lured into an argument on the internet. Adelaide had Walker, Petrenko and Callinan out before the match, our big goal scorers besides Tippett. Tippett was injured a few minutes into the match, and then so was McKernan. Tippett and McKernan were also our backup ruckmen. so this meant not only did we have a unexperienced forward line, but we had only 1 ruckman for the entire match, in Jacobs. Jacobs won 60 something hitouts, and Henderson (a defender) went up and kicked 6.

Yet, Port has a whole bunch of it's best players out (including, the captain) and you want to gloat about having two players being out at the start of the game? Pretty sure David Rodan was out too, at the start, for Port. It doesn't make two shits of a difference. Boring one sided game and no real amazement.

being two guys down early in the match does make a difference

    That doesn't make a difference.

yeah but port had the full 22 players on the field, we had 2 guys injured early. plus. port had an even weaker side last weekend, but put up a great performance against the Cats at Kardinia, and only really lost it in the last quarter. Adelaide dominated them from the very beginning, even though we were 2 guys down.

It's funny you say that, Port didn't have their two key forwards, either (Jay Schultz and Robbie Gray). They didn't even have their captain in their side or Hamish Hartlett (Whose a great player). I think the team has heaps of other players injured. So your comment full of bs. Why don't you go do some research, before making such a biased comment? I mean, my God. I don't go for Port, but it doesn't mean I don't have a brain (rolls eyes).

2 injuries to our 2 key forwards/backup ruckmen (Shaun McKernan and Kurt Tippett), with Taylor Walker already out by suspension, and the fact we were still able to win by about 10 goals, that's what i call a great win

Nah, the West Coast vs. North Melbourne game was a "great win". This is like going on a tour to an ice cream factory -_-
