How much more ironic can it get than Frankie Dettori being handed the mount on eventual G1 Epsom Derby winner Golden Horn only because majority interest in Jack Hobbs was sold to Godolphin a couple of weeks prior to the Derby. If that transaction doesn't happen it's almost a certainty that Frankie Dettori would've been riding Jack Hobbs at Epsom and William Buick would've been riding Golden Horn just like they were when the two ran 1st & 2nd at York in the G2 Dante Stakes.
