"Frankel The Farce" Excelebration couldn't get past a Grade II horse in the States. Frankel...The greatest horse in the world. LOL! :+)

I think Thoroughbreds are dandy in their own right. BUT, they only do races up to about a mile and a half. Big deal. Akhal-Teke's can run faster for longer, much longer. In their native land the Akhal-Teke's gallop flat out for 5 miles. Let's see a Thoroughbred do that without breaking down. In fact, Thoroughbreds were bred to the Akhal-Teke to increase the Teke's speed, but those offspring turned out to be slower than full bred Akhal-Teke's. Check them out, they're rare.

Up to a mile Frankel could well win over a mile and Sec would just gallop him into the ground JMO.

Ok then TocklinStallion, how do you explain the fact that it took 50 years for a horse to surpass Sea Bird ??? You cannot possibly predict genetics, he's a 1 off they come along once in a Blue Moon, and I can hear Shawaddywaddy !!!

CALIFORNIA MEMORY BETTER THAN FRANKEL!!!!! California Memory beat CDA (in Hong Kong) by FURTHER than Frankel did!!! Using the 'logic' the Euro people use here constantly (incredibly simplistic way of 'rating' horses) then California Memory IS a BETTER horse than Frankel. Euro people 'logic' is that Frankel is ALWAYS 11L better than Excel. (he beat him by much less other time). Assume (based on No evidence) that Excel. ran below par in U.S. *Cali Memory IS better than Frankel* U.K 'logic'

Wise Dan "absolutely" smoked Excelebration. Make me wonder what Frankel was finishing in front of. Obviously not much. Enough said.

I can't help but think a horse of this unique/freakish quality SHOULD be racing in the Arc and the Breeders Cup. I think Cecil and Abdullah will think they have made the right decision at present but a few years down the line I think they will regret not taking him elsewhere.

How do you know that he is the best horse we will ever see? if you research pedigrees you will know that horses improve through generations. Frankel was better then both his parents, his parents where better then his grand parents. So with the right breeding he could well produce an even better son or daughter. One thing that could hinder that possibility is the hideously high stud fee of £100,000 stops lots of top mares being covered by him.

Best horse we will ever see, and I agree I personally will talk about this horse for the rest of my life, he is pure class. I am happy they have retired him now, he is fit happy and healthy and will always be remembered as such. I know I look forward to seeing his decendants run

Wish they would let him stay in training for another year, probably the best horse anyone will ever see

If the intent was to finally try Frankel at 12f in the King George and the Arc, I would've been all for it. That's the only they would've ever gotten to the bottom of how good Frankel really is. But to bring him back just to run at 10f for an entire season didn't make sense. He already won 2 of the 3 premier G1 races at 10f in the UK. The only one he didn't win was the Coral-Eclipse. Can't see coming back for that+ running in the JIS and Champion Stakes a second time. Maybe the Prix Ganay, too?

Agree. Would love to have seen another season out of him. Enjoy the retirement.
