Thank you for posting this video. I'll Have Another is such a wonderful horse - he is all heart and soul, tenacity and will-to-win. He enjoyed winning, and it was a thrill to watch him race. I will miss him. I hope he has a great life at stud in Japan and that he will make lots of other champion I'll Have Anothers, just like him. They will certainly be beautiful horses, that's for sure. Have a happy life, IHA. Hope to see your babies racing, and winning, here in the States someday soon.

They did the right thing for I'll Have Another, it is plainly seen that the I'll Have Another having trouble walking in the video. The left front leg is swollen but, to me it seems that bless the poor fellows heart that is in both front legs. The right call was made and I am thankful to all those that put their pride to the side and thought what was best for him ( I'll Have Another).

Is there some reason why NBC couldn't be bothered to show this on TV? Do you think if we took up an offering of $2 from every horse racing fan in the US that we could bribe ESPN into covering horse racing again? NBC is a pathetic excuse for a network in every area. I guess that's the same crap we can look forward to during the Olympics. Great!

I still can't believe it. I'm glad they did the right thing by the horse, but I am just so devastated that they had to make that decision at all. I have no doubt in my mind that he would have won. It's a shame he never got to prove me right.

Horses cock their hind legs like that when they are relaxed. It's not a sign of a problem; it is a good sign. It shows that he is comfortable and happy.

To the owners of I'll Have Another", thank you for doing what is best for this beautiful horse. It is terrible that he didn't run in the Preakness, but you did the right thing, the best thing. To I'll Have Another, enjoy retirement and know that in our hearts you are the champion!

I believe the horse has problems with more than just one leg. On the walk to the ceremony he seems to be walking very "tenderly" and at 1:32 watch his right rear leg when he props that leg up on just the front of that hoof like he wants to take his weight off the bottom of that hoof.

Man! I'm gonna miss watching this colt run~! he made this year different from the other attempts. He was going to actually win this race. No crown but I'm glad he's going to be alright, and I'm glad Union Rags won. There are a lot of exceptional colts and rising stars in the making this year's field, hard not to like any of them. Maybe Real Quiet and Sunday Silence other than that no other horse since Affirmed made me feel closer to seeing "Another Triple Crown" Have a happy life, "Cheetos"

Thank-you for this video. I watched the coverage and NBC showed 2 seconds of this retirement ceremony! As a horse owner myself, it's very upsetting as to what happened...was a blessing this occured before the actual race....Good Luck to Mario in his future.....To "I'll Have Another", may you have a long and happy life you fine fellow!

Well, the did the right thing for the horse. Sadly, he had Tendinitis, and had to be retired early. Poor guy. Let's all hope that he get's better. Mario is one of those jockeys, that actually cares for the horse, not just about the money. Who would have thought a horse with terrible odds would win the Derby, and Preakness? Not me of course. Good luck Mario on the rest of your career, and happy retirement, I'll have another!
