The first TC series I watched, at 10 years old, was in 1969. Even as a kid, I was impressed by the muscularity of The Prince. The shoulders and chest on him are massive.

Don't you consider "KELSO" a horse of consequence? Many people do!

I've seen every racehorse of consequence since 1959 and saw Raise a Native's three races in New York--all of them in track record time. His last race was unbelievable--51/2 furlongs in 1:02.3 in hand. As far as he went, he was the greatest racehorse I ever saw. I include Graustark, Buckpasser, Dr. Fager, Hoist the Flag, Secretariat, Seattle Slew, Ruffian, Spectacular Bid, et. al. when I say that.

Raise A Native must have had some kind of mutant blood in his system. The amount of champions that came from his line is almost unbelievable. It's a shame that his career was cut short by injury. My uncle actually saw him run twice in 1962 at Belmont Park and still remembers it vividly to this day.

Thank you to whoever posted this. My horse is a grandson of Majestic Prince. Piper (my horse) is not a racer, but a phenomenal jumper. Majestic Prince produced many great athletes

I saw this horse in Santa Anita. Very striking looking - big beautiful chestnut. "Majestic" was a good choice of words.

Bill Hartack (RIP) said Majestic Prince was the beat he ever rode.

Fine points, all. It would have been a legendary confrontation. Sad how many rivalries have been ended prematurely. Take care.

In addition I'd like to say Arts And Letters was a super horse. He and Majestic Prince were very close in talent, and if they could have competed thru the fall it would've been one for the ages.

"The Prince" was considered by many as one of the most beautiful horses ever seen. Even more important he was one of the true greats on the track. I believe he was going to run away with the championship if only his owner would have listened to his esteemed trainer Johnny Longden.
