india will never do well overseas. their bowling is terrible. I think the increase in pace is commendable but there is no variation not enough swing not enough consistency. the pace has gone up which is great, however the accuracy and consistency has diminished. the pacers (though bowling well over 142kmh +) are leaking runs left and right and prove to be expensive

Wow, must be a treat for journos around the world with the way MSD speaks at press conferences. Funny, thoughtful, calm and no tantrums. The calm before the storm, the retirement decision. What a professional, didnt even give a hint of what was going to happen in next 15 mins. Admire MSD for this, thanks Captain :-)

in adelaide test if kohli didn't play aggressively.india would would have get allout within half a day.becaue lyon balls spinning too much.kohli's approach was good there.most of the batsmen got out by defending lyon spinning ball in fifth day.as a captain,he led from the front.look at the fourth and fifth day records of india in overseas, when our batsmen gone for draw, they alway put pressure on themselves by losing wickets by going for defending tactics.kohli will be a better captain.

+Krisna Siv and others, While I dont want to pull Kohli down, I feel that in that test that he captained, he was overly aggressive in his batting and strategy which led to a defeat which should have gone closer than what happened. He gave wrong instructions to t he new batsmen to go for the kill, instead of showing a little composure. About Dhoni, yes, he started loosing his sheen and his decision-making, left us wanting more in tests, especially overseas. That said, I dont believe this "get the best of what you have" thing. Making Clarke captain of the pace attack of current WI team is not going to make WI win matches. Nor making Ponting captain for Indian team will suddenly make us win matches. Even Clarke has lost many away tests in India, UAE and England. But he escapes ridicule. They still dont have a Steyn, Morkel and never got back a Mcgrath or Shane to do well outside Australia. India under Ganguly performed because we had moments of great individual performances which led to positive results. Yes, Ganguly did have an influence and Dhoni lacks in being tough on his players on the field. Dhoni needs to be credited for weeding out Sehwag and Gambhir and backing Vijay/Dhawan and Rahane in the middle order, which is providing good consistent opening partnerships of 40-50 and good middle order performances. But India now is carrying a laughable bowling attack. Except Zaheer, no one now is even accurate. You need not take wickets, atleast keep bowling consitent and producing half chances. BUT NO! My blood boiled with every leg side ball and boundary ball by Shami, Yadav, Aaron and Ishant. Deplorable and mindless bowling! So Fans and BCCI should wakeup and realise that unless India can get even 2 good fast bowlers and a reliable spinner, we can never win test matches with bowling. We need miracles and huge batting performances. Make anyone the captain. MSD should still have played under Kohli, as he is still the best wicket keeper batsman in India. Had a good 2-3 years in him. But I guess he had his own reasons.

Only Dhoni could decide when its time to go but in my opinion he had at least 3-4 more years of test cricket ahead of him. Its tough being keeper in tests though. Hats off to one of the greatest captains India ever produced.

Some sick comments by Australians, they have shown that they do not deserve the amount of respect they earned in a very recent tragedy
