New Zealand Racing Board chief executive John Allen discusses the reasons behind the allocation of an additional $12 million towards prizemoney for the next two seasons across all three racing codes in New Zealand. The thoroughbred code will receive a $6.5 million dollar boost in each of the next 2 seasons.

Hmmm where will this stake money go? NZ Cup? Other Group races? Or to the grass roots, where I belonged before I opted out, exhausted financially and physically, after 20 years.
