Inglis Sires Produce Stakes G1 2 OPEN ($1,085,750), 1400m 1:25.72 | |
Race Synopsis: Pride Of Dubai was sixth in the early stages but was caught wide and he moved up (three wide) to race outside the leading pair (Always Allison & English) at the 700m. He challenged nearing the 200m was under pressure shortly afterwards but lifted gamely from the 100m, then drawing clear to score impressively by just under length. He also ran the 1400m out strongly and should be suited by the distance of the ATC Champagne Stakes (Gr 1, 1600m) on Saturday week. Odyseey Moon raced a bit keenly in fifth place, between runners. He moved up well (wide) nearing the home turn and challenged strongly at the 200m. He then battled gamely to dead- heat for second. Rageese settled in second last place in the ten- horse field and raced a bit keenly in the early stages. He improved between runners at the turn, got a split at the 300m and took a narrow lead at the 200m. He then fought on well to dead-head for second, putting up a smart performance at only his third race start. Pasadena Girl was last to the 600m, fanned deep rounding the home turn, switched back towards the rails at the 200m and fought on nicely for (1.4 lengths) fourth. Tarquin was sixth, wide with cover. He put in a wide run at the turn and fought on for (2.8 lengths) fifth.Favourite English raced outside the leader to the home turn but tired from the 200m to finish sixth, beaten five lengths, racing below her best in the Soft7 track. As too, Ready For Victory who was fourth between runners, briefly looked a threat when he went to the rails at the 200m but he just battled from there to finish (5.5 lengths) seventh. |
