I followed Ghaamer in 2013 when he was still racing in Ireland for trainer Dermot Weld and liked what I saw from him in most of his races. Back in January he bolted up to win his Meydan debut by an easy 3 lengths and I can remember thinking then that Ghaamer would win more than just that one race before the carnival ended. He's had 3 or 4 losses between his debut win and this one, but has finally accomplished getting multiple wins now at Meydan.

I followed Ghaamer pretty closely in 2012 & 2013 when he was still racing for trainer Dermot Weld in Ireland and always liked what I saw from him, save a bad run in a Premier Handicap at the Curragh in his final start in Ireland before being sent to the UAE to race. Back at the beginning of January, Ghaamer bolted up by an easy 3 lengths to win his Meydan debut over Canwinn, Somalian, and stablemate Ostaad and I remember thinking at the time he was a horse that would win more than just that one race before the carnival was over. He ran a creditable 5th of 16 in his next start after his Meydan debut win, but had since been struggling with two 11th of 13 finishes back to back, so it's good to see Ghaamer back in winning form again.
