@viperwc30 It's true lynch, shuey were out to but u had them for most of the yr bar 1-2, missed the swans but injuries are no excuse, collingwood won 10 in a row with 6-8 key players out

@viperwc30 Ur a fukin joke! West coast only had 5 players out. Waters, embley, lecras, hill, kennedy thats it!Half of 22 isn't 5. Don't use fukin injury as an excuse. Collingwood and essendon do genuinely have half there team out throughout the yr and are still performing

Josh Kennedy was just a recycled, unwanted player at Hawthorn. It's only now that Hawthorn realize his true value.

I'm not sure what the others are being paid but for many years people considered Adam Goodes a dud and overrated. Ryan O Keefe at one point wanted to go to the Blues but the swans blocked him due to contract obligations. We almost used Jude Bolton as trade bait a few years back, but decided against it.

To my understanding the swans only spend 93% of their cap.

ok um.. lets see... adam goodes, ryan o'keefe, jude bolten, josh kenedy, just to name a few. I would imagine that Adam goodes would have a fairly significant pay packet, which is why no club has ever even attempted in signing him.

Righto. My points still stands. I have no doubt whatever the league they play in is better than the shitty NEAFL.

reserves teams... the WA clubs don't have reserves teams in the WAFL...

Let me just add that a lot of swans players are 'rejects' from other clubs.

Also, how are the Suns and Giants going? Going to win the Premiership this year, right? Pffft. The Victorian/SA/WA clubs have a massive unfair advantage as it is, anyway. They already have leagues (VFL, SANFL, WAFL) where they can develop their reserves teams. Sydney has like one of the weakest secondary leagues going around. 7% extra isn't that big and doesn't necessarily equate to premierships. Otherwise we'd have been winning them for the past 7 seasons.

That's a load of bullshit. They booed as soon as they began taking him off the field. They weren't booing the umpire's I was watching the game. Play had already been stopped for at least 2 minutes. They were booing LRT. WCE fans are nothing more than a disgrace!

  • TaytoCastle Says:

They were not booing for that reason, the eagles had a good run through the middle of the ground and the umpire decided to stop play. They were booing the umpires.

You want a song? try YNWA

Sydney are only good because they have pretty much an extra million on their salary cap.

Yes mate - honour the name and so on. Our song is so stirring and wonderful. The Eagles' song - insipid! However - we will be there in September and with some luck on GF day.

West Coast Eagles Fans are a disgrace! Booing LRT as he's being helped off the ground after a head on collision with an Eagles player. What ever happened to good old sportsmanship? You would never see that happen at a Swans home game or at any other teams home game. WCE fans disgust me!

You do have a point haha. I don't see them getting back Lecras, Kennedy, Embly and Nicoski back for the season so they are going to have to improve :) But yes I agree Shuey, Lynch, Hill Darling and Hams were all big outs. They will rebound against the Crows if they are going to be a final contender.

Pretenders? West Coast had 4 out of last weeks game, " Shuey, Lynch, Hill and Hams", with Darling being substituted early in the second half with hamstring complaints. Also they still have "Waters, Lecra, Kennedy, Nicoski and Embley out". West Coast basically have there whole forward line missing, and Shuey is a big lose in the midfield along with Waters down back.

I agree with what you said. We have a real hoodoo at the MCG simply because we can't execute any form of game plan there. Perhaps if we go into a match there with some form like we have now it could be different. If we can play well at the MCG we will be a genuine force but you can't win a flag if you can't win at the MCG, no matter who you are or who you are playing.

That is absolutely right, and I dare say I would not have picked the Swans to be in this spot at the start of the season, not that they haven't had good squads, but top of the ladder? I don't know who will snag the Premiership, the Eagles looked great... until recently, and the Pies had a real long stretch of quality games until Carlton exposed them somewhat. I can't say that the Swans strike me as the favorites heading in, but no one stands a clear head above the rest at this point.
