I loved Sunday Silence and my cousin loved Easy Goer. We were both nine or ten when my uncle brought us to watch the Preakness. One of the greatest sports memories of my life. Two great horses who would have won the triple crown in any other year. Thanks for uploading.

I was always a fan of Easy Goer, but Sunday Silence was a beautiful horse!

I remember watching the stretch thinking, wow, if that horse ran in a straight line it would have been a massacre.

In addition,it is a known fact that horse racing can throw some monkey wrenches in when it comes to times. Example: a horse goes out and runs 8 furlongs in 1:33 1/5! Next week, that same horse goes out and takes on rivals with bit more class, and loses in a final time of 1:36. Horses are complex creatures. My point is there is many factors in a race. With SS,&EG you have 2 dominant horses &No matter how fast the pace is those two are always going to be in the mix.

With all due respect to Ruffchamp1, race times are not always the big factor in a race. A slow pace in the early to middle stages of a race usually end with a average finish time. More importantly, if SS had been in some of those races the results could have been very different. Neither horse had any real competition except each other.

it seems SS bumbed several horses, but the question is, would it have changed the winning outcome.. i guess the judges didn't think so.

He was shying from the whip and would have won by 10 if he'd have run a straight line.

easy goer ran the 2nd fastest mile in history behind DR.FAGER in 1:32 2/5 and the 2nd fastest mile and a half behind SECRETARIAT in 2:26...absolutely brilliant!!

Anyone thinks Easy Goer was better than Sunday Silence, check out the Breeder's cup. Goer was a strong horse, great endurance, but Silence was faster, pure and simple.

This race was terrible. SS was all over the place like a big bully. Any other horse would have been DQ'd. That = Special treatment. Valenzuela could have been wielding a shotgun out there and they would have let it go.

I have this whole triple crown on tape and Sunday Silence is one of those peculiar histories of horse races, that triple crown really shooked me, Easy Goer was brilliant but I wanted so bad Sunday to be triple crown !! Yet Easy Goer was a good sire, Sunday Silence is brilliant...
