| Race Synopsis: Always Allison is now unbeaten in two starts and is a very promising filly. She settled fourth on the rails, Glyn Schofield angled her across heels shortly after straightening, she took a moment to wind up the then ran strongly in the centre of the track to win with something in hand by a neck. The favourite Speak Fondly raced outside the leader (Tibrogargan Miss), was beaten for pace as the leader kicked clear on turning for home but then battled on very well, just finding the late-closing winner a bit too good for (half length) second. The Queensland-trained filly Tibrogargan Miss led, dashed clear shortly after straightening and held on well for third, beaten a length. Mowgli was eighth on the rails, was under pressure from the 600m but kept responding, making ground along the rails for (2 lengths) fourth. | |
