You can deal with those people one of two ways: with pity or by pointing and laughing. I'm partial the latter myself, although the two are not mutually exclusive.
I've heard a lot of people crab Zenyatta's form over the years. Saying John Shireffs should've sent her out more often against the boys in races like the Hollywood Gold Cup, Pacific Classic, or Goodwood Stakes. But just because she didn't compete in those races it's still awfully hard to say she dodged any of the best males of her generation running in back to back BC Classics. And that covers the best on dirt, synthetics, and turf from America, Europe, Japan, and beyond.
