Mark it down, this won't be the only race that Windhoek wins during the 2014 Carnival. I really like this horse. I've followed him all summer in the UK when Mark Johnston was still training him and he rarely ever runs a bad race. A good purchase for Godolphin, though I don't imagine he was that hard for Sheikh Mohammed to purchase since he was already owned by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum to begin with. As bad as I hate to say this, Mike De Kock's wasting his time running Daddy Long Legs in 2000 meter(10F) races. Daddy Long Legs simply cannot stay that trip. Today made his 5th career start in a 2000 meter or 10F race, and for the 5th time he finished stone motherless last. Just like he did in the Kentucky Derby, Secretariat Stakes, Irish Champion Stakes, & Al Maktoum Challenge Rd. 3 before that. Daddy Long Legs reminds me a little of Godolphin's Mendip who was much the same way. From a mile to 9-1/2f he could be tough to beat, but he simply could not see out that extra 1/2 furlong.
