Tom Waterhouse said it is the best horse he has ever seen.

Frankly, and with no disrespect at all intended to Rewilding(RIP), because he was a great horse and tenacious competitor in his own right. But had SYT been ridden with the level of patience in this race in 2011 that he was ridden with by Joseph O'Brien this time, I firmly believe that we're right now talking about SYT being a back to back winner of the G1 Prince of Wales's Stakes. Ryan Moore shot for home too early on SYT in 2011, and he got run down by a horse who stayed out 12 to 12+f easily.

I completely agree with you on that statement. I'm not sure what Aidan changed in his training regiment? But in both the Tattersalls Gold Cup and Prince of Wales, SYT definitely looked a horse both re-energized and revitalized to me. With all the big G1 stakes races at 10 to 10-1/2f on turf in Europe, why point this horse at anything else? Play to his strength. That's where he's at his best. If he continues winning in Europe? Then maybe something like the Hong Kong Cup at 10f.

I'm impressed that Aidan was humble enough to take advice and change SYT's training regime. He admitted that in the past 18 months he put too much work into the horse. After Dubai he has put in more sprint work and eased off on the workload to freshen him up. Now SYT has his trademark turn-of-foot back.

Wow very Humble Aiden, thats why you are a true horseman. SYT is a super aussie horse who had the master of all trainers Bart Cummings training him, glad you took on Barts advise as you found out he is WELL WORTH WHILE listening to. Well done!
