As I said ealier this video was made for Black Caviar. Tbh I give shits about your opinion about her and that she would be beaten by Frankel. It's not going to happen. She is injured and therefore didn't do as well as she could have. Try run with 2 muscle tears, I'd like to see that. So being able to do her normal accelaration was phenominal. She is a unique horse who deserves far more credit. She might be a mare but she damn sure is one of the best to ever have walked this earth!
And I'd agree with you, if her acceleration in that race was her normal acceleration. She didn't respond at all, however - even with grade 2 and 4 muscle tears, and without her customary speed and acceleration, she won - albeit by a head.
Category 1/2 tears are common in racehorses... one of the reasons that walkers & swimmers are so widely used. But it was established that she had a cat 4 STI. This is far more than general soreness. As a rule cat 1/2 injuries can result in conditional changes during a horses preparation. Cat 3 is season-ending. Cat 4 can be career-ending.
This video is a video for the undefeated queen of racing, Black Caviar. Not a place to go say she will lose. Because in fact she wouldn't lose to Frankel. She has already proven she is an amazing horse. I am not saying Frankel sucks but I am certainly saying that he is NOT the best in the world.
Yeah it was! I was there! It was scary as hell and people kept yelling GO NELLIE and the waiting for the result was exscrutiating.
Yeah that's all I know as well. But she won't be retired if she recovers within the next few months.

Just discovered!! BC has torn two muscles and has suffered severe bruising to her hindquarters during the race. And she still won.
