"Take it in- take a good look at what it might have been. As we're swept in the water from the shore. Because there's no way you can tell us that we can't have more, because we can have more. "

You can see in her action from 0:59 to 1:04 as she's cantering past the crowd, just how sore she was after that race. Poor Nelly was in pain. Her huge heart won her that race. Champion horse, she deserves to sit alongside Phar Lap as the best we've ever seen. Love you Nelly xxx

I see she's frighten off Ortensia and Samaready..which is a real shame, because you can bet some of her knockers are going to make the usual complaints..she beat nobody etc...Ortensia actually has some impressive U.K and Dubia form and is a world class horse..Black Caviar beat her last time by about 7 lengths and I would expect the margin to be the same this time around!

Very true. Any other horse would have been proud to have run that well, and she did it with her infamous reccurring muscle tears. A marvelous career worst performance - at least in terms of finishing margins. The courage, will to win, and the enormous raw talent she demonstrated in winning that race whilst badly injured certainly ranks that performance in these respects as one of the most impressive in history.

While watching that race on line as it was happening I saw her sag about halfway and thought she'd be pulled up but he just let her run on her own with no urging whatsoever. Magnificant mare. I believe they timed her at one point in the race at 44.3mph, that was when qipco started to fool with timing horses in England.

Especially when the horse is nearly crippled!

That's whats forgotten in all this..she could have won by a length which is still a decent margin in any wfa sprint championship.

She would have won that by over a length, had she not been pulled up. However, I understand Nolen could feel something was wrong, and thought she'd probably be safe to the line even though she was running half as well as usual.

OMG this win gave me heart palpitations! I've never gotten so worked up over a horse race, not even The Cup. I don't think my nerves would have ever have rcovered had she been beaten :-) One of the greatest racehorses we have ever produced.

she'll pull up fine! i'm sure of it. Peter said he's gonna prepare her for spring. If her flight back goes well, we'll being seeing her compete for her 3rd Patinack Farm Classic. And I will most certainly be there! :D

I hope she comes through them 2 torn muscles fine. The pain she went through and still have the courage to give her very best, payed off. She did it! Whether she retires or not, ill accept because what ever the outcome, you can always trust her to do her very best.
