Gaelic Warrior was sent off at 1-12 to beat his nine rivals in the maiden hurdle at Tramore and those who took the cramped odds were counting their winnings while the opposition were having their own private battle for the minor honours. The winner, trained by Willie Mullins and ridden by Paul Townend, was having his first race since being beaten a nose in the Boodles Juvenile Hurdle at Cheltenham in March.
