if conditioned properly, they can trot/slow pace for about 20 miles. but thats ONLY if they are in the condition they should be for the task you ask of them.
i logged in just to reply to your comment. ive been behind "the scenes" of harness racing and its not what you think. sure there are bad trainers but there are many good ones. my uncle is one of the good ones. he loves and cares for them. they treat them as pets. they arnt mean to them like you think. why do you think most of the trainers are actually trainers? because they love horses. you dont make that much money with harness racing UNLESS you have a top of line horse and that is rare.
My friends mom worked at a racing track for a while, the manager caught her loving on a horse, he yanked her off the thoroughbreds back and yellled at her for a little bit of praise, then he fired her!!!!!!!!!!! SULKY RACING IS STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like my post if you agree.
I'd also love to know what kind of camera setup you used to film this? I'd love to try to put something like this together too sometime and try to get the videos up on YouTube.
We need more people doing this!
Whooo-eeee. That's what I call a class edge. Impressive first over grind. Didn't look like she even popped the plugs. Had the whip tucked away until the top of the lane. That horse inside was already dropping the bit at the top of the backside. That was when Kano was saying..."I'm just getting into gear!!!" Amazing video...hope you guys make lots and lots more I've been dying for good HD sulky cam action on YouTube! These videos should be great for fans and newcomers alike. Thrilling.
I am still getting usede to the technology. There will be bigger and better things to come - including having Jodi use the camera for a week to capture "a week of rcing and training".. Stay tuned and thanks for the comments
