Saxon Farm had won 5 of his 6 races prior to this, mainly around Northern tracks (Ridley Lamb won on him at Hexham). He dead heated for 3rd place in the big 4yo hurdle at Liverpool on his next start. However, I know he then had a series of training problems and I'm not sure if he ever ran again.
Detroit City reminded me a lot of him big powerful grey and another I thought would go on and jump a fence yet both ended their lives in similar styles losing their form all of a sudden and having heart attacks at Ascot.

Yes, Alastor was also a good horse on the flat when trained by Guy Harwood.

Pretty sure that it's the actual Cheltenham on course commentator. You hear his voice on many races in the early 80s.

....competative race as usual....not familiar with the commentator...although that was GG at the end.......
