Great to see BHL's weight carrying performance again after all these years - I didn't have a video recorder then. It would be an interesting race between him and Denman at level weights !
ta, magic to see that again. Clips are shown of the finish on telly every so often, but just seeing how BHL and Francome edged their way into the race is great. If I had my way, I'd make every Gold Cup winner run in the Hennessey 8 months on... I know some horses can carry weight better than others - or so their trainers say - but it's such a great jumping track, Newbury, and great horses have lost nothing in defeat there.
