@bluemanc43 Thanks for posting this video, Gran Alba is my horse's sire so it is lovely to be able to see him in action! Don't suppose you know where I could find more vids/pics of him?

@bluemanc43 just had a look on the racing post website, you were right. i bet theres loads over the years that have suffered a similar fate, they just stop racing one day, and its only years later you found out what happened. hate that to happen to any horse tbh. never mind, he was a good horse. this was his first run over hurdles, no disgrace to be 3rd behind those 2, and went on to finish runner up to flown and thetford forest who both won at the festival that season and he won a couple too.

It was on Hennessy Day yes and he did indeed win a Christmas Hurdle. Old Song Of Sixpence was for me to old to be sent jumping when he was as a 7yo but still didnt deserve his ending on the flat at Pontefract in 1993 as a 9yo. Reve De Valse showed the highs and lows of jump racing top class juvinile to selling plater in a couple of seasons.

impressive winner. was this on hennessy day.. vaiguely remember watching it but hard to remember everthing from 19 years ago. i think he won the christmas hurdle as well didnt he, i could be wrong about that. he was a good horse though. certainly remember him and the others song of sixpence and reve de valse. the old stuff is worth its weight in gold tbh.
