Hong Kong’s new sprint kingpin. Badly poleaxed in the lead-up to the Group 1 Longines Hong Kong Sprint (1200m), the Group 2 Jockey Club Sprint (1200m) in November to run last, he duly made amends with a sparkling all-the-way win in the Sprint itself. Went to Japan to contest the Grade 1 Takamatsunomiya Kinen (1200m) on March 29 and again reigned supreme, going left-handed as well. Not raced since, but has trialled in impeccable order at Sha Tin. Prefers to be on top of the ground. Can be a hard horse to ride, but jockey Zac Purton knows his every quirk. Will be the horse to beat.

Sentimentally I'll be rooting for Rich Tapestry in the Krisflyer, but on recent form Aerovelocity definitely looks like the horse to beat, IMO. He took out the G1 Hong Kong Sprint back in December and then in March traveled to Japan and defeated all of their top sprinters in the G1 Takamatsunomiya Kinen.?
