I like how people are dismissing it as an ordinary AW maiden, it's clearly more than that and as has been said, he was favourite for The Derby pre-race, so that effort confirmed the confidence connections had in him. I'm sure they (like other leading trainers) felt better to start on a sound surface of polytrack than slog through the mud and bottom him. We'll know more when he's stepped up in grade, but they have to start somewhere.

Some controversy and debate already swirling around this son of Galileo. Mars was installed as the current ante-post favorite for the 2013 Epsom Derby. A lot of racing insiders debating the issue of whether or not Mars is likely to get the 12f trip in next season's Epsom Derby? Similar to the likes of Frankel and Noble Mission, Mars is another Galileo sired colt who's out of a Danehill mare. For the record, not the same Danehill mare. Frankel and Noble Mission out of Kind. Mars out of Massarra

Coolmore (AOB) Have 9 Montjeu unraced colts So i wouldn't fly in on Mars yet... Surely Mars would be a 2000G horse? on Pedigree anyway. The 2yo crop keeps on getting better.!!

The fact that a lot of people are missing out is he was favourite for The Derby before he ran. Like Camelot was. People who see the best AOB has on the gallops picked this horse out as his best chance. You would think that 1m2f would suit on breeding. I know that Galileo is incredibly versatile but I'd prefer a Montjeu for The Derby. I wouldn't be surprised if he went abroad next year and maybe at the end of this year (to the B.C). Maybe he ran here cause of the soft ground elsewhere though!

10/1 Fav for next years Derby. Wonder when a 1st time winner on the AW was as short following debut. If trained by anyone else would be 50/1+ not to say that it could not happen

That's impressive, it's only a minor event and everyone thinks its going to be a group 1 horse next year, but that's certainly possible!

Theatre will be the better colt.

Not your ordinary, average maiden race that you often see at Dundalk. I took the time to look at the pedigrees of the 11 horses in this race, and this was a very well bred group of 2yr.old's from top to bottom. The top 2 finishers both sired by Galileo. 3rd by Aussie Rules, 4th by Street Sense, 5th by Key Of Luck, 6th by Shirocco, 7th by Henrythenavigator, 8th by Dylan Thomas, 9th by Henrythenavigator, 10th by Papal Bull, and 11th by Dubawi. And all out of broodmares with excellent bloodlines.

Impressive, very impressive. I would be more excited if he was a Montjeu, however i suppose a Galileo colt will have to do :)
