Watto is to big of a coward to go into the army my friend. He has to go to school to even build a house. I learned that growing up on the side while I went to high school, Went into the Marine Corps at 19 yrs. Oh well, somes got it and some don't. (smile)

I didn't have enough words left to finish that last, so I'll do it now. As well as making it impossible for him to win the Melbourne Cup, they also refused to let him be scratched from the race. The truth was, that he wasn't allowed to win, but they wanted him there to draw the crowds.

Sorry! :) More to say. Phar Lap would have gone on to equal or exceed Makybe's record of three Melbourne Cup wins. I mean, there were no horses to challenge him, so what could prevent him from taking away as many Cups as he could? The reason he lost his second, was because of the scandolous amount of weight heaped on him for that race. It was said by experts that it was a miracle he didn't break down, and it was also admitted that the weight was to ensure he wouldn't win.

It looks to me like Phar Lap won with greater ease than even the great Diva did in any of her Cups. I say ease, because the Diva looked exhausted, when compared with Phar Lap.

No he didn't. He came 8th in 1931 carrying 10 stone 10. No horse has carried as much in the Melbourne Cup since.

And as for the American making rediculous comments, you are part of the reason the rest of the world can't stand Americans. As for the Australians, you idiots are part of the reason the rest of the world thinks we are uneducated bogans and morons. You all need to grow up.

he only ever run 1st or second, after his first victory, they just needed to "knock that lazy streak out of him" oh yer and he won the melbourne cup carrying 10.10

Phar Lap was shit compared to Secretariat. He was a wonder horse in Australia not America. Its a no brainer comparing him to the greats we have. And many in Australia do not believe Phar Lap was the best over there or is it under there. Secretariat son Kingston Rule smashed his time to the 2 miles and every other horse ever that came from Australia. OOps, sorry about that. A New Zealand horse for Phar Lap. Lets compare Phar Lap with Gallant Sir.Hehehe

Mate = a colloquialism used to refer to a friend. Dude = an infected hair on an elephants ass. Me and my Aussie Mates say, see ya later DUDE.

Arcaro never went back to Mexico to race again and could not blame him. Doubt Woodcock didn't have enough to buy a hamburger when he got to the states. They all went in the hole dip shit not counting the taxes the Mexicans collected on that race. No wonder that track shut down not long after that.Hehehhe

Were in the hell do you learn anything from dude? Are they from the tall tales johnnycomelatelys post you read & the side street dope heads who knows the language very well you speak.? No heart attack here dude & ticking along just fine for a old man of 64. Glad to hear your concern though.(smile) You have nothing to offer in knowledge of horse racing but dreams. I use the word dude not Mate.

@rscarbro100 A further complication occurred when he suffered a painful injury to his heel, which usually spells the end of any training program. Yet another negative factor was his rider, Billy Elliot. Capable Melbourne lightweight that he was, Elliot had no experience in the "big time" of America or on dirt tracks. Because of the hoof injury, Phar Lap's task looked even tougher when he was forced to wear heavy bar shoes for the first time. theres your proof,
