The 'England' cricket team is stronger than English cricket because really
the 'England' team is the "English, Irish, and South African combined XI''.
I assert a real England player is someone who learnt their cricket thru
the English system. If the England football team won the world cup with
their 2-3 best players being Spanish (with heavy Spanish accents), it would
be be considered a very dodgy victory. Just how many overseas players are
England allowed? Take KP and Trott out of the ECB XI's top six, who would
come in? Australia still catch flack for playing Protea Kepler Vessels in
the 1980s. Also in Apartheid days, English cricket propped up the racist
South African cricket system by giving South African players a living in
England and the chance to play for England. Also why is Mike Gatting
allowed in a TV studio or any cricket ground in England? The ECB/TCCB has
no soul.
