In my opinion, North America will prove to be the horse to beat on world cup night in the G2 Godolphin Mile, and I made that statement two starts back. His win in the Firebreak Stakes now runs his career record to date on Meydan's main track to 4 for 4. But maybe even more impressive than his still being unbeaten is the way he's winning these races. His first career start in Dubai back in November during Meydan's winter meeting was won by 8 lengths, which was followed up in December by his second win by 8-3/4 lengths. His third win was his only win to date where he got any kind of meaningful challenge, where he defeated Heavy Metal by 1-1/4 lengths, the same Heavy Metal who's already won once and finished 2nd twice on the main track at this year's carnival and has himself become quite progressive on the dirt. Today's win here in the G3 Firebreak Stakes was again pretty much won at North America's own leisure by 7 lengths. If the Godolphin Mile were being run tomorrow, North America would most definitely be my top pick and/or tip in that race.
