Easy to see why Ihtimal was the highest rated filly in the field because she made beating some other very good fillies in their own right look easy in this race. Going into this race Ihtimal's official rating was 105 but it's not as if the rest of the field were scrub fillies. Mensoora in 2nd was the next highest rated at 100. Feedyah in 3rd was rated 91, Wedding Ring in 4th was rated 97, Magrooma in 5th was rated 98, Oxsana in 6th rated 93, and Magroora in 7th rated 90. The other 4 fillies in the field had ratings ranging from 84 to 88, and Ihtimal still won this race by a very comfortable, very easy 3-1/4 lengths. This made Ihtimal's 5th career start to date in patent stakes company and she's now won the G2 May Hill Stakes, G3 Sweet Solera Stakes, & listed UAE 1000 Guineas. Her other 2 stakes starts produced 3rd's in both the G1 Shadwell Fillies' Mile & listed Chesham Stakes. I'd be surprised if another filly besides Ihtimal ends up as favorite now for the UAE Oaks next month.

Some quality fillies in this year's renewal of the UAE 1000 Guineas for sure, but the class of Ihtimal told the story of this race. She's a very genuine and highly progressive filly that had a terrific juvenile season in 2013, winning the G2 May Hill Stakes & G3 Sweet Solera Stakes, and she finished 3rd in both the listed Chesham Stakes & G1 Shadwell Fillies' Mile. She made this win look pretty easy, IMO.
