| Race Synopsis: Bring Me The Maid was ridden quietly by Luke Nolen and settled in fifth place, one off the rails, following a good pace. She was travelling strongly when she improved (deep) rounding the home turn, moved up to hit the lead at the 200m and then drew clear to score a smart first-up win by a length and a half. Memorial settled last in the six-horse field. She fanned wide on turning for home, put in a good run to challenge at the 200m and then battled gamely for a very good first-up second. Clover Lane was a handy third, moved up three wide nearing the home turn, was a bit one-paced at the 300m, before battling on for a sound third. Alpha Miss raced outside the leader (Press Report), briefly took the lead at the 300m before finishing (4.4 lengths) fourth. Nayeli was a handy fourth on the rails to the turn but just battled on from the 200m point to finish (6 lengths) fifth. | |
