There were signs that she wasn't quite herself this year. We certainly would never want to see her run injured, and never want to see anything less than her best. Sad that we won't get to see her run again, and particularly to see her win the Distaff.
Great career, good they found the problem before a disaster struck. I wonder how long the connectons knew there was an issue or they just" found out after her last race. Iy will be interesting to see how her legacy is remembered. A great fillie or one of the greatest fillies/mares of all time. Songbird was my favorite horse on the circuit. No Chrome, No Beholder, no more Songbird, a weak 3 yr old colt crop. It's been a down year in many ways.
