Paarette Pat second I believe, I know the jockey through family in riding circles.

Plain and simple - Black Caviar is "Simply the Best".

Looking good. It wouldn't surprise me if she finally loses one this year but I'm sure she'll round off her record well enough.

Nolen is riding her and one other point she was 9 wide on the turn which gave the second horse about a 2 length advantage it could have been a 7 length jog in the park?

The jockey (is Nolen riding track work here?) doesn't move on her, a couple have the persuader out, the others are hard riding hands and heels, and none of them get close. She's fantastic.

I'm not a fan of horse racing but one has to admire and acknowledge how special this mare is.

You got parlay right but messed up with the word "rite".

She got a beautiful gate, switches lead like nothing i have seen in in35 years of educating shit loads of nags. covers a furlong in 30% less strides, she was only at half gallop by mine. Just like in England, close shave sure, for fucksake she was at half pace ???? She would win the TRIPLE CROWN in the states, I never bet but I would parlay (I think that's rite word )that. SHE IS BEST AUS HORSE EVER,

She is a big girl! I recognized her running form right away; she seems to be moving normally, like her old self. Best of luck this year, I am expecting to see some terrific performances even though it means I'll have to stay up late to watch catch her races (racing fan on the east coast of the US). Breeders' Cup is in California again for 2013, maybe they could give her a little trip?

In the past I would have loved to have seen a prep like that grp2 1200m race into the memsie (1400) into the george maine (1600), then the epsom (1600) if she doesn't look like going further otherwise the underwood (1800) into the turnbull/cox plate IF warranted. If not so, take a let up resuming in the aus. stakes into william reid to futurity and orr stakes. over a mile might've been a stupid suggestion but you wouldn't race her if it seemed too much leading up.. like if you agree

Okay, it may have only been a jumpout but I'd say she's back bigger & better than ever. I'd like to have her in my stable. Go you good girl!!

  • Mark Hughes Says:

    23/01/2013 4:58:16 PM

it was actually a jump out, not an official trial. the names of the runners don't have to be notified. the only way to find out is to ask someone who was there, and even then with no call it would difficult to know.

  • BalmainBucko Says:

    23/01/2013 2:45:58 PM

Keep in mind she jumped from the widest gate and held that line, she actually covered about 830 meters compared to the horse on the inside who probably just covered about 800...swap them around and Black Caviar wins it by 7 lengths under a strangle hold...she's back bigger better and faster...fantastic news for racing and I heard Peter Moody say this morning she may race on until she's 7 years old!
