With nearly two months off to prepare and get acclimated to the upstate New York climate, To Honor and Serve returned to top form Saturday and won the Grade 1, $750,000 Woodward for 3-year-olds and up at Saratoga Race Course.
To Honor and Serve was undeniable in the $750,000 Woodward Stakes at Saratoga Race Course Sept. 1, holding off the late challenge of 3-5 favorite Mucho Macho Man to earn his second grade I victory by a neck.
To Honor and Serve was expected to be one of the top 3-year-olds of 2011 when the season started. It took him more than nine months, but the Bernardini colt has finally lived up to that billing.
