Sunday Silence scored a two-and-a-half-length upset victory over Easy Goer in the 115th Kentucky Derby today at Churchill Downs, but the only thing that seemed right about the race was that the two best colts beat the others.
Silver Charm came out of the West today and outdueled Captain Bodgit by the length of his gray head to win the 123d Kentucky Derby in a photo finish for Bob Baffert,the white-haired trainer who lost the Derby by a nose in a photo finish one year ago.
Roses in May never ran in the Kentucky Derby, the race he was named for, which is held the first Saturday in May.
