Fascinatred with racing and jockeys as a child, he started his journey in the game from humble origins as a groom before going to work for the champion trainer in his native South Africa before his professional detour as a pilot for several years. Cunha is now set up in Newmarket and increasingly establishing himself in the Flat headquarters of British racing.
We also talk to fellow South African and rider Kyle Strydom, who has ridden several winners for Cunha this Flat season, while we also catch up with trainer Patrick Owens and find out more about the fantastic work being carried out at the British Racing School.
