Just a bunch of englishman commenting on the quality of their horses, blah blah blah. America has the best horses, period. And im not american.

Wise Dan is an excellent quality miler, one of the best ones I've ever seen, but him against Frankel would be a different story I'm afraid. I know people, if Frankel would race against WD, he would get the race of his life OUTSIDE UK. Because running in England is not as easy as it looks, the huge slopes that you have to climb, the unbearable wind coming at you, the sloppy surfaces - is it quiet surprising that Animal Kingdom do well? No, he didn't suit the surface, he needed more practice on it, he for sure needed a less competitive field to start with... But Wise Dan is sensational too.... period

@Joshua Doherty Just answer me this John. Where is the valid proof that Frankel would do well overseas? All you've said is horses that have won over here from Europe. Where's the proof that Frankel could handle the travel? Where's the proof to suggest he'd run his best form overseas? Where's the proof that Frankel could adapt to different conditions? Where's the proof that Frankel could dominant out of his comfort zone? There is none, but only your opinion.

@Joshua Doherty 1: We don't know how Frankel would've done overseas so weather he would dominant or flop we will never know so both options are valid. You can't say he would dominant because it was never proven he could and it was never proven he would flop. 2: Horse do differently overseas. Sea Moon beat Dunaden and RC in Europe didn't he? And Sea Moon struggled in races in Australia yet Dunaden won the Melbourne Cup and RC's been runner up how many times? Just because Those horses did well here doesn't mean Frankel would.

Anyone comparing margins on a flat turning track to the fenced hills they call tracks in the UK are kidding themselves. UK racing has as much in common with international turf racing as Dirt does. Perhaps Wise Dan wouldn't show his best in the UK but Frankel would not be winning by 10 in any G1 outside of the UK either. Nothing in Europe is comparable to Wise Dan as Farhh is a 130 rater at best despite the extra leg timeform think he's grown.

@One&Olney but by what his owners have said he won't ever travel overseas. And besides, Frankel never travelled because according to his fans "His the best horse in the world, so the horses have to come to him". Well Wise Dan is arguably the best horse in the world at the moment, the horses should come to him ,can't have it both ways.

As much as I want to see it, Wise Dan will never race in Europe (Royal Ascot, Queen Anne) and even if he did I couldn't see him winning. Look at Animal Kingdom. So they could at least take him to the Dubai Duty Free where the race is tailor made for him. Left handed, firm and fast pace. Should have all the advantages over any European contingent and it won't be as strong a race as the Queen Anne.

Wise Dan is a great tough horse,he doesn't seem to have that instant and exhilarating turn of foot though like a Frankel,Black Caviar,Treve etc etc etc, still a great champion though.

@ASupremeOwl And the fact that you keep on commenting on all these Wise Dan videos proves you are threatened by this horse, if you weren't why keep saying it? Have a chill pill Owl, Frankel's retired so he avoided Dan the man ;)

He'd be in the top 5 or 10 that's for sure. Superb Miler.

  • Joshua Doherty Says:

    6/11/2013 11:37:50 PM

You've hit the nail on the head mate. The QE2 will see a big reduction in the quality of milers going over there from Europe and also the ones that do will be over the top because of running just 2 weeks before. As we've seen with Excelebration and now this year, with Olympic Glory.

  • Joshua Doherty Says:

    6/11/2013 11:34:40 PM

LOL he beat horses the superior of Goldikova (Canford Cliffs) without a pacemaker. Excelebration also never got that close to Frankel as he did to Wise Dan. If you want to point to Excelebrations failure and want to turn a blind eye to the fact he ran on heavy two weeks before and had to travel, that's your prerogative, but I'm sure you would like me to offer a similar courtesy to Animal Kingdom's Ascot run in June? Frankel was another realm

to dismiss Wise Dan so carelessly really shows how little you know of horse racing.

Big love from England! I backed him at 11/10. Sweet horse; stumbled at the start and was four wide around the final bend. A very, very good horse.

The fact that Frankel DID use bullet train, even in small fields, hands the title of the greatest miler to WD. Especially after back to back BC taking on worlds best.

  • ASupremeOwl Says:

    5/11/2013 5:21:34 PM

@RunningDownADream... Frankel would have toyed with Wise Dan with or without Bullet Train. Infact Wise Dan would have made a great lead horse

  • Running Down a Dream Says:

Sure, if Frankel could have his stablemate keep him covered up....Something we will never know now will we?

  • ASupremeOwl Says:

Anyone who still believes Wise Dan would have give Frankel a race is deluded. There's at least a stone difference. Wise Dan is a Champion, Frankel was a pure freak of nature just like Secretariat. They come around very rarely...
