Making her United States debut, French-bred filly Alterite seized the lead past mid-stretch en route to a commanding victory in the $500,000 Garden City Stakes (gr. IT) on the inner turf Sept. 14 at Belmont Park.
I expect to see this filly win a few more races in the US before Martin Schwartz gets around to retiring her. Alterite had already been running really well against some of the best 3yo fillies in France prior to coming stateside. The likes of Flotilla, Silasol, Beatrice, Peace Burg, and the unbeaten Treve, arguably the best middle distance filly in Europe right now, 3yo or otherwise.
