That looked more like the Charge of the Light Brigade than the Kentucky Derby. When you have that many horses and no staggered start as they do in track, the horses on the wide side are at a disadvantage. There ought to be no more than a dozen horses in a race.
Wish we could see more of Little Current here...he beat Cannonade in the Preakness and Belmont...here, came from dead last to run past 17 horses and finish 5th...largest # of entries ever, 22 or 23...after that, they limited it to 20...I think that's him picking up horses in the middle of the track in the home stretch
