I tell people all the time at the track not to worry about how small the horse is. A old horseman once told me its in their heart. If they want to run they will! Right on Dancer!!!!!!

Our school yard was surrounded by the National Stud Farm (Windfield Farms) and the horses grazed by the fence while we ate wild strawberries. Our class went to visit Northern Dancer after he won.

Maybe, but there would not be a Storm Cat if it was not for his paternal papaw, The Dancer. And so the line grows. I really love this little guy.

Yep, The Dancer was quite the stud. His own progeny might not have done as well at the track as Storm Cat's, but I agree, his bloodline is vital to the breed as we know it. Thanks for your comments, tinman. Take care.

I just knew you liked this little guy, probably THE most important sire of all times. Not to take away from Storm Cat but outdoing the Dancer will be a tough one.

gives me goosebumps--hey--you have sunny's halo derby?--slightly off topic--regarding dance smartly--there is always a part of me that would have loved to see her run in the classic that year--a BIG risk i know--if she had not fared well it would have meant no eclipse award--but i still like to dream...lol
